Are you interested in submitting your work to “Inclination,” for publication on our blog? See our submission guidelines and contact information below!

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

To submit, please email your submission in PDF form to inclinationarthistory@gmail.com. To contact us otherwise, please fill out the form at right, noting your name and personal contact information with your message so we may get back to you.

  1. Your submission document body or document name must not include your name or other discerning information. Our submissions are judged blindly so as to showcase work as best we can without bias.

  2. Your submission content should be in twelve-point Times New Roman font with your title as the document’s header. We ask that all submitted file names are organized with the form of writing first, and then the title. Formatting example is as follows: SUBMISSION TYPE [PERSONAL ESSAY, REFLECTION, RESEARCH PAPER, ETC], TITLE OF SUBMISSION.

  3. Please attach all images you seek to have embedded in your potential blog post in a separate PDF document with the relevant image citations for use in the image’s caption. Preferred formatting is as follows: [NAME OF ARTIST, TITLE OF PIECE, DATE, MEDIUM].

  4. We ask that your submission be no longer than five pages, including references, if possible. As this publication is digital and primarily in blog form, we face difficulty formatting longer papers and other works for showcase on this site.

  5. In the body of your email, please include a brief third-person biography that we may publish alongside your work (this can include your majors and minors, your graduation year, and relevant interests).

We accept submissions on all topics of study within the umbrella of Art History, not just formal academic papers. We are looking for works that investigate art as seen in pop culture, current events in art, as well as personal reflections or editorial pieces. We encourage your submissions to include visual elements, as Art History is an innately visual medium and incorporating images is vital to understanding the subject of your submission. As such, we ask that these images are properly cited.
